The dream of having your own "Pipe Organ" seems to be utopia for most people !
And it certainly is- if we talk about an organ with thousands of pipes
the cost is way too much for the average Joe Organ Player

( Large quantity of pipes from pipe organ )

Enter the world of Virtual Organs

Thanks to programs such as Hauptwerk and JOrgan you can now play the sound
of the largest pipe organs right in your own living room !
Or do you have  a church  building with a electronic organ that simply can not do the  job anymore ?
Your building has gotten larger over time- the organ has not ?
It is far more cost effective to use a midi-virtual organ instead of buying a new digital organ !
New digital organs are beautiful of course but they are very expensive !
Specializing in refurbishing old electronic organs for home and church
and even can change old  pipe organ consoles into virtual organ consoles
(  Have several used and ready to play midi organs available- see the For Sale  link  )

Listen to some of these samples from several different Virtual Organs
Virtual Music 1  -  2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6

This is much less expensive than purchasing a new organ !

The technique used for this is  called MIDI-

How does MIDI  work ?

What is a Midi Organ Console?
MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) is an industry-standard protocol
that enables electronic musical instruments such as keyboard controllers,
electronic pianos, and organs to communicate with computers and with each other.
MIDI doesn't transmit an audio signal (sound); rather,
it transmits event messages such as the pitch and intensity of musical notes to play,
and control signals for things like volume, opening  and closing swell shades or crescendos on an organ, etc.
This information is sent to a computer, where virtual organ software
such as Hauptwerk plays the sound recorded from the sampled organ.
The result is that the musician is, in effect, playing the original sampled organ by "remote control,"
hence the term "virtual organ

The computer is connected via a Midi cable with the digital organ or keyboard.
All pipes of all stops are separate recorded (inclusive reverb)
and stored on the computer as sound fragments (samples).
There are many samples on Youtube if you look for "Virtual Organ"

When you press a key on the digital organ or keyboard then
Hauptwerk or JOrgan received it via midi  and plays the right sound fragment (sample).
When you release the key, the reverb is played.

When there are more stops selected all affected samples are mixed.
The sound comes from the computer and not from the digital organ.

Your keyboards- pedal board and stops / presets get all connected
to very small what we call " midi- modules"
These midi modules get connected to your computer via a midi cable
and you are ready to play organ again
It is that simple ! Well- not quite.  but there is hope !.

Budget ? How much do you want to spend ? Do you want a 1- 2 or 3 or 4 manual organ ?
Do you want a "table top " organ or a full console organ ? 13- 25 or 32 note pedal board ?
Are you going to use Hauptwerk  or JOrgan,
Touch screen (s) or stops ? Drawknob stops or tilt tablet stops ?
All new or all used or a mix or whatever is cheapest ? Can you do the wiring part yourself  ?

You need a reasonable fast  computer  with at least 8 or more GB DDR3  memory
You also need a reasonable fast processor ( CPU )
And the most important part is :  You need software that makes playing possible !

You can purchase the cheapest version of   Hauptwerk   for around $ 250
There is now also available the free version of Hauptwerk 4 - which is adequate for most users
or you can experiment with  JOrgan, which is for free

It is very useful to use a LCD Touch screen for stop control
All other things such as presets and toe studs
and swell shoes can directly be wired into the midi system

Custom made Swell & Crescendo Shoes ( $ 30/ each)
 &
Drawknob Stop boards - all with MIDI included
